Plus Size Fashion Blogger Spotlight: Jerae of CurvyologyBlog:
Location:  San Diego, CA

How long have you been blogging?
I’ve been blogging for 4 years and revamped my blog 1 year ago and started Curvyology

What or who inspired you to become a fashion blogger? What led you to it?
I’ve always loved fashion. For me, being plus size all my life, I looked at plus size fashion as a mini fashion challenge because it’s not always so easy for us to find fashionable pieces. So I decided to start blogging to share fashion finds and share any tips and tricks I’ve learned along my plus size fashion journey.

Do you blog full-time, for fun, as a hobby? Share your evolution!
I blog for fun, but it’s a dream of mine to do it full time.
Fashion Blogger Spotlight: Jerae of CurvyologyWhat is your favorite asset? Your legs, arms, waist? How do you play that up?
I love my legs. I’ve always had thick legs. Years ago, I didn’t embrace my legs at all. I would always wear jeans or pants, and on the small occasions I did wear skirts or dresses, I would always cover my legs with tights.

Now I love every inch of my legs, and I would choose a skirt or dress over pants any day. I like to play up my legs by wearing midi skirts or dresses. Midi length makes my legs look even longer and leaner.

What are the challenges, if any, you face regarding being tall and plus size?
Being plus size and 5’11”, I have a love-hate relationship with the lengths of any garment. But I’ve learned midi length skirts and jeans that specifically say “tall” complement my frame and height perfectly.
Fashion Blogger Spotlight: Jerae of CurvyologyWhat’s your favorite thing about being tall and plus size?
My favorite part of being tall and plus size is just that, being tall and plus size. I enjoy going places and being the tallest person in the room. I feel it demands attention that I like to use to show people that plus size women can be fierce too. (Hair Flip and Finger Snap LOL)

Who/what are your favorite designers/brands?
My favorite brand of all time is ASOS Curve. I also love Forever 21+ and AVA & VIV

Describe your personal style.
My personal style is pretty broad. One day I could be feeling glamorous & chic, and the next day, I could want to give 90’s grunge. It really all depends on how I’m feeling that day.
Fashion Blogger Spotlight: Jerae of CurvyologyWhich bloggers inspire you? Plus or straight size! Any bloggers currently on your radar?
I really like Garner Style and Gabi Fresh. Gabi for her swimwear line and helping what she calls the “Fatkini” becoming mainstream and both her and Chastity (Garner Style) for their collab with Target to develop AVA & VIV. Their fashion sense and work in the plus size community is really inspiring.

What do you think about where plus size fashion is today versus a few years back?
Plus size fashion
has made huge strides in the past few years. I remember when I first really got into fashion in high school I would have to custom make a lot of my own clothes because I never could find clothes that were trendy and age appropriate.

Even though plus size fashion wasn’t the greatest years ago, I wouldn’t change those times for anything because it really allowed me to appreciate everything plus size fashion has to offer now.
Fashion Blogger Spotlight: Jerae of CurvyologyWhat do you think or hear from readers, is one of the biggest myths about plus size fashion?
To me, the biggest myth about plus size fashion is that people think fashionable plus size women have the desire to be slim. I’ve actually seen discussions about this on social media. Ummmmmm, No. A lot of plus size women like myself, are comfortable in the skin they are in. Being slim is not the ultimate goal for all plus size women.

Are you working on anything or have anything to share? Anything else you want The Curvy Fashionista’s readers to know?
Yes. I have a YouTube channel all about plus size fashion and beauty. Search for me on YouTube as “Curvyology” ! And please remember to subscribe to my channel!

Fashion Blogger Spotlight: Jerae of CurvyologyLastly, what does Curvy.Confident.Chic mean to you?
When I think of Curvy. Confident. and Chic, I think of a curvy women who is proud and embraces the skin she is in. A women who walks with her head held high because she knows who she is in everything she does and she does it all while being a fashionista.
